POLICE recovered suspected stolen jewellery from a pawnbrokers in Southend.
Officers want to trace the owners of the haul, which includes two silver wedding bands in sizes R and S.
There are also gold rings which spell out Mum and Dad, a gold pendant, and various gold chains.
Det Insp John Walne, of Southend CID, said he would like to speak to anyone who had jewellery stolen between October and December last year.
He said: “If people have been burgled since these dates it won’t be their stuff.
“We don’t believe people hoard stuff for months and months and then pawn them, they usually pawn them quickly.”
The goods were recovered as part of Operation Avenue, which seeks to combat the rise in burglaries.
Det Insp Walne said: “It’s mainly jewellery because that’s the difficult property to formally identify.
“With other stuff like TVs and laptops they have serial numbers and it’s easier to identify their owners.
“The problem with jewellery is it doesn’t have a serial number.”
Anyone who thinks the jewellery may be theirs can call Southend CID on 0300 3334444.
