A WOMAN was pushed to the floor and robbed of her handbag by violent muggers – and one of them was believed to be just 15.

The 30-year-old was attacked by two males in Argent Street, Grays.

She was walking along the street when the attackers grabbed her and pushed her to the floor.

They then snatched her handbag.

Police are now hunting the pair of thugs, the youngest of which is thought to be 15.

Laura Anderson, of Thurrock police, said: “This was an extremely unpleasant and distressing incident for the woman.

“Thankfully, despite being pushed to the floor by these two thugs, she was not seriously injured.

“However, her ordeal was nonetheless frightening and we would urge anyone who knows who is responsible for this attack to do the right thing and turn in these muggers. Motorists or people walking through Argent Street at the time may have seen, if not the attack, then these two men hanging around the area Their calls could be all we need to identify and arrest them.”

Both of the robbers are described as white men.

One was aged 18 to 20, around 5ft 10ins tall, slim and wearing a white cap and a black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

His accomplice was aged around 15, 5ft 5ins tall and wearing light coloured clothing.

Witnesses to the robbery, which happened at 9.15pm on Friday, January 30, can contact officers at Grays on 0300 3334444.
