A GANG of robbers attacked two men as they walked through a Southend underpass.
The trio struck in the underpass leading to Kilworth Avenue, and claimed they had a knife.
Their victims, two 21-year-old men, were jostled as the crooks demanded they hand over their possessions.
One of the victims gave them his wallet containing loose change, some cigarettes and a Nokia mobile phone. The other handed over a wallet containing £20.
The suspects were all in their early 20s and of a skinny build.
The first was white, 5ft 10ins tall, and had short mousy hair. He was wearing a green shell suit jacket and jeans.
Another was black, 6ft tall and wearing a blue hoodie. The third was white, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a dark beanie hat.
Essex Police spokeswoman Julia Pack said the attack happened between 3am and 3.15am on Sunday.
She added: “We appeal for members of the public to come forward who recognise the three suspects by their descriptions – did you come across them that evening?”
Anyone with information is asked to call Southend police on 0300 3334444.
