STUDENTS at a Thundersley college have gone back to the Eighties for their latest musical extravaganza.

BTEC performing arts students from Seevic College, in Runnymede Chase, are busy putting together the last of the arrangements for their graduation show Back to the 80s.

The musical will pay homage to the decade, so expect big hair, luminous sports gear and classic songs including Footloose, Kids in America, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Walking on Sunshine.

The story is a classic love triangle, set in the senior year of fictional high school, William Ocean High.

Everyday-Joe, Corey Palmer, is lusting over girl-next-door, Tiffany Houston, but she only has eyes for top-jock Michael Feldman.

John-Reece Blatchford, 19, from Canvey, who plays Corey, said: “This is definitely the best show we have done since I have been here. It’s the first time we have hired a professional set – which looks amazing.”

The students are hoping to put on five performances in total, two matinees, to which they will invite pupils from local schools, and three evening performances for the public.

All staff and students involved would like to see this show sell-out to give these students a successful end to their time at the college.

Tickets are £4 for adults and £2.50 for concessions. They can be purchased directly from the college, or by calling 01268 756111.

The shows will take place on Tuesday, June 16, Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, and will all start at 7.30pm.
