CONVICTED burglars are being hounded by police in their toughest clampdown ever.
Officers are following six serial burglars, day and night, to make sure they don’t reoffend.
Laindon-based Insp Simon Anslow has written to them all, warning police would have them under constant surveillance.
He said: “Burglars cause misery for law abiding residents. If they don’t like it, then they can stop offending.”
The operation has been welcomed by politicians and victims of crime. But convicted burglar Kian Shinnick, 24, from Laindon, the first to be targeted was clearly furious.
He told the Echo: “This is bang out of order.”
