A MAN has been released on bail following a crash in Thorpe Bay which left his passenger on a life support machine.
The 36-year-old driver was arrested after his red Toyota Supra crashed into railings in Thorpe Esplanade.
The front-seat passenger, a 43-year-old man from Shoebury, was conveyed to Southend Hospital at 6.30pm on Monday after sustaining serious injuries.
The driver, a man from Shoebury, has been released on police bail until Tuesday July 14 pending further enquiries.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information should call Rayleigh Road Policing Unit on 0300 333 4444.
