BASILDON music stars Depeche Mode have said their world tour will continue after lead singer Dave Gahan had a tumour removed.
The frontman was rushed to hospital around two weeks ago after falling ill with gastric flu (gastroenteritis), where doctors later found a tumour in his bladder.
Band members have said the cancerous tumour has now been successfully removed and have pledged to continue their world tour from June 8, in Leipzig, Germany.
A number of tour dates that were feared cancelled are to be rescheduled.
The band, which formed in Basildon in 1980, played at a number of local venues before making a name on the world stage.
