THEIR motto is “dream, believe and achieve” – now dynamic street dance troupe Diversity aim to prove actions speak louder than words as they gear up for the most important night of their lives.

When the south Essex boys set the stage alight with another red-hot dance routine in the final of Britain’s Got Talent, the whole of Essex will be behind them.

The 11-strong group – who come from Basildon, Wickford, South Ockendon, Rainham and Dagenham – is hoping legions of fans will be voting when the much-anticipated final of the show takes place tomorrow night.

In south Essex, Diversity fever has been spreading.

At Lakeside in Thurrock, more than 300 shoppers, staff and fans gathered to show their support for the group by wearing “Perri masks”.

Perri Keiley, 12, from South Ockendon, is the youngest member of the troupe and known for his amazing acrobatic moves.

Sophie Scott, Lakeside’s marketing manager, explained: “We are huge fans of Diversity. They have been visiting the centre for years, hosting dance workshops for shoppers.

“They’re lovely boys and we really hope they win.

“To show them how we are behind them, we got got 300 Perri face masks printed and handed them out to fans.”

At Seevic college in Thundersley, where Diversity frontman Ashley Banjo, 20, was a former student, support is also thriving.

Ashley gained four A-Levels at the college in biology, chemistry, physics and maths, achieving two grade As and two B grades.

Ashley of London Road, Wickford, not only performs in the group, but he is also the choreographer behind their innovative, entertaining and unique routines.

His younger brother, Jordan, who is also in Diversity, is due to start at the college in September.

Ashley and Jordan’s mum Danielle Banjo, the group’s manager, said: “Diversity’s motto is dream, believe and achieve, and that’s exactly what they hope to do on Saturday night.

“They were UK street dancing champions in 2007 and some of them have danced together for 16 years, so to win Britain’s Got Talent would be amazing.”

Seevic student Samantha Thoburn 18, from Hullbridge, added: “I love Diversity’s moves and the way they bring comedy to dance. I voted in the semi-finals and will definitely be voting again tomorrow.”

Basildon MP Angela Smith, said: “I don’t normally watch the show – to be honest I’m a Strictly Come Dancing woman, but I’ll definitely be tuning in and voting for Diversity. They seem like nice young men, and I wish them every success.”
