A TEENAGE bank worker who passed on a customer’s account details is facing prison.
Declan White, of Mayflower Close, Eastwood, was told to expect a custodial sentence, when he pleaded guilty to one count of fraud, at Basildon Crown Court.
White abused his position as an employee of the Royal Bank of Scotland by passing on the details of a customer’s bank account to someone else, sometime between May and June last year. The incident led to the bank losing £1,639. The court heard how White, who is now 18, was totally “ashamed” of his actions and he had no previous convictions.
Postponing the sentencing, so a pre- sentence report can be compiled, Judge Christopher Mitchell told White: “You are likely to go to prison.”
White will be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court in the week beginning July 20. He was remanded on unconditional bail.
