THE courage of a boy who had a stroke at the age of four will be recognised at an awards ceremony today.
Sam Jones, now seven, spent 12 weeks in hospital after suffering a stroke in 2006. After nine months’ therapy, Sam returned to school.
Lynda Pritchard, his headteacher at Warren primary school in Chafford Hundred, said: “He never complains and is such a cheerful boy.”
Sam, of Chafford Hundred, still suffers some difficulties. He will pick up the Child-ren and Young People’s Courage Award at the Stroke Association’s Life After Stroke awards in London.
