PUPILS couldn’t stop talking at Cherry Tree Primary School – but for once their teachers didn’t mind!
Youngsters from the school in Church Road, Basildon, took part in a public speaking contest.
The annual event, known as the Betty Finch award, sees pupils giving speeches about topical issues in front of their classmates.
The winner, Isabelle Marsh, eight, was pleased to recieve her award from Mrs Finch – a former chairman of governors at the school.
