A lucky woman has had a close escape after she became stranded in a Canvey marsh.
The 35-year-old woman walked into the marshland between Thorney Bay caravan park and Magnolia Close late on Tuesday night.
Fortunately her screams were heard by a nearby resident and firefighters were able to stage a dramatic rescue.
The woman was taken to Southend hospital as a precaution.
