A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to abduct an 18-year-old girl at Prittlewell railway station.
The victim, who is from Southend, was standing outside the station waiting for a friend when a van stopped beside her and the driver asked if she wanted a lift.
The girl declined and the van drove off, but it returned a few minutes later.
The driver grabbed the girl by the arm and tried to pull her towards the van. But she fought him off and the creep drove away.
Detectives arrested a 60-year-old man from Westcliff in connection with the incident which happened at 10.30pm on Wednesday March 24.
The man has since been released on police bail until Monday, June 7 pending further enquiries.
