A WOMAN whose car was wrongly clamped is ready to gain revenge by using bailiffs to get her fine back.

Vanessa Altin, 46, won a small claims court action against Southend-based clampers LBS Enforcement after she was wrongly targeted.

The mum-of-two had parked outside Danes cleaners, in Agate Road, Clacton, but the clampers did not realise she was a genuine customer and told her she would have to pay £286 to release her car.

Despite a letter from the dry cleaner’s manager explaining the mistake, the company refused to return her money. Mrs Altin won a county court judgement against them, on March 17, for £311.

However, she has received no response and no cheque from the company directors.

She said: “They have clearly got no intention of paying. They have had plenty of time to pop a cheque in the post.”

Mrs Altin said she had decided to pursue the firm because she was so furious at her treatment. She said: “I was so angry. I felt they were so rude.

“I have made my point and won the argument. They could have just sent me a cheque and said sorry.”

She is ready to send the bailiffs round and added: “I would like to clamp their managing director’s car.”

The company is registered to Camper Road, Southend.

Mrs Altin said: “I have got the authority through the court to get bailiffs to take goods to the value of £311. At least the public are paying their fines, unlike LBS, which is not paying its.” No one at LBS was available to comment.
