A team of beat bobbies has begun dedicated patrols of two yob-plagued tower blocks following urgent calls for action from residents.
The Echo told on Friday how residents at Royal Court, Laindon, felt let down because a dispersal order which gives police powers to move on troublemakers was not being enforced.
Yesterday, a police team moved on to the estate.
A sergeant, three PCs and a police community support officer will concentrate on patrolling the Laindon Park ward using a mobile police unit as their base.
