THOUSANDS of people descended on south Essex for a new music festival.
The first SX Festival took place, at Tabors Farm, in Shopland Road, Rochford, on Saturday and Sunday.
Organisers said about 6,000 revellers showed up, seeking sunshine and songs.
They enjoyed five stages of music, with around 80 acts, ranging from folk to drum and bass.
Among the line-up were Southend veterans Eddie and the Hot Rods, Rayleigh indie outfit the Jayways, Leigh-based American folk rockers the Lucky Strikes, and reggae 11-piece Goldmaster Allstars.
