A MAN who suffered serious injuries on ship off Canvey this morning was rushed to Southend Pier and taken to hospital.
He is believed to Dutch and in his mid 40s and was working on a dredger near Chapman Sands.
A fast launch took him to the pierhead where Southend RNLI staff used their buggy and took him, on a stretcher, to the shore end to be treated by paramedics.
The Essex Air Ambulance was called but not used as a road ambulance took him to Southend Hospital.
