HIS designer T-shirts are already a feature on the red carpet, but now Tim Allen’s brand has made it on to the big screen.

Mr Allen, 31, set up his own clothing line Sho Sho 18 months ago and has just opened his first shop in Westcliff.

The Sho Sho brand T-shirts are decorated with crystals and have been worn by music stars, including Chipmunk and N-Dubz, at awards ceremonies, in music videos and on TV providing him with some high profile publicity.

Now his brand has been chosen, alongside sportswear companies Adidas and Puma, to be worn by actors in the film 4321 due to be released next month.

The British movie follows three days in the lives of four girls who are unknowingly connected by a diamond robbery.

He said: “The director of the film, Noel Clarke, got in touch with me and said he was impressed how many UK artists are wearing my label and would like me to co-sponsor the movie, alongside Adidas and Puma. So I sent them some clothes and he confirmed I will get to go on the red carpet next month in Leicester Square.”

Tim used to be a debt collector and found himself unemployed when the company he worked for relocated.

So he took the opportunity to turn his hobby of designing T-shirts into a job.

He said: “I wanted to send my design to a big artist. It all started when I custom made a free T-shirt for Chipmunk with a CM design in crystals.

“He wore it in his music video Muhammed Ali.

“From there it has really grown. I got in touch with artists through their websites or Facebook or MySpace.”

He has had financial help along the way from his mum and the Jobcentre and Business Link scheme for the shop and to buy printing machinery.

His shop called Design A Print is in Milton Road near the Cricketers pub and can be contacted on 01702 351553.
