A MAN had his shirt yanked over his head during a terrifying street robbery in Laindon.

The victim, aged 31, from Basildon, was walking in the subway between Long Lynders-wood and Pamplings when he was set upon by two men.

The attackers grabbed him, and in the scuffle his shirt was pulled over his head and face to blind him.

The victim ended up on the floor where the thugs rifled through his pockets and stole more than £100 in cash.

The victim was left badly shaken, but was not physically injured during the attack.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses.

The first robber was white, aged in his late thirties and around 5ft 2ins tall.

He had tanned skin and was of a skinny build, was balding, and had a flat nose and wide eyes.

His accomplice had olive skin, short, dark, French-cropped hair, and was aged in his late thirties.

He was stocky with thick hair on his arms and hands and wore a dark T-shirt, trousers and shiny shoes.
