WOMEN are being urged to grab their last chance to enter the Race for Life charity fun run taking place in Southend this weekend.
About 3,600 runners have signed up for the race, which is taking place on Sunday in aid of Cancer Research UK, but there are still 400 places left.
Last year, 2,000 runners took part in the event, running, jogging or walking the five-kilometre course and raising £167,202 in the process.
Gill Burgess, Southend event manager for Race for Life, said: “We are absolutely thrilled so many women will be taking part in Race for Life in Southend.
“Together, they will help us create a fantastic atmosphere on the day and raise crucial funds to help beat cancer.”
To sign up for the race, which will take place at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, off Eastern Avenue, visit www.racefor life.org.uk or call 0871 6411111 before midnight on Thursday.
