CYCLISTS are invited to take part in a ride on Foulness Island to raise cash for charity.
The Rotary Club of Thorpe Bay is encouraging people to enter its bike ride on the island, on Sunday, September 12, starting at Great Wakering Primary School.
The club is supporting the Havens Hospice community Macmillan nursing team and by aiming to raise enough money to fund a nurse for a year.
Macmillan nurses are only funded by the Macmillan charity for three years. The hospice then has to raise funds to continue to employ them.
They provide vital support and advice for cancer patients and their families.
Cyclists registering for the event can choose their start time and pay their entry fees online at www.thorpebay rotaryevents.co.uk Riders are encouraged to register as soon as possible as places are limited.
Alternatively, call Garry Lowen on 07715 952774. Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children.
