A DRIVER was injured when her car crashed into the back of a bus.

The accident took place about 4.45pm in Kiln Road, Thundersley, near the junction with Runnymede Chase, when a blue BMW collided with the larger vehicle as it stopped at a bus stop.

The woman driver, thought to be in her 30s, was helped out of her car by firefighters from Rayleigh Weir fire station but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

She was taken to hospital by paramedics, reportedly complaining of chest injuries.

Firefighters also helped clear up the spilt fuel while police closed the road for about 20 minutes.

Rayleigh Weir firefighter Ian Collier said the bus passengers were all ok.
