A DIGGER was stolen from a building site in Leigh.
Thieves got into the locked site at the corner of London Road and Lymington Avenue and loaded the small yellow digger onto their vehicle.
Police believe they may have used a low-loader, flat-bed or pick-up type of truck to carry out the crime sometime between Friday, October 1 and Monday, October 4.
Pc Ricky Rodds said: “Stealing the digger would have caused a lot of noise so I am asking for information from anybody who saw anything strange over the weekend.
“This could have happened during the day with the suspects wearing high visibility jackets to disguise themselves. I want to make the public and community aware that there should not be any workers on the site past 5pm on weekdays, and no workers there during the weekends.”
Witnesses are asked to call Pc Ricky Rodds at Leigh Police Station on 0300 333 4444.
