A MAN was battered with a plank of wood after he refused to hand over £5.
The victim was at the junction of Haven Road and Long Road, Canvey on Tuesday at 3.20pm when the attack happened.
The would-be robber demanded he hand over cash before hitting him with the plank of wood.
