A REVELLER has been left with bleeding to the brain after he was attacked at a Basildon nightclub.

The 30-year-old was at Envy nightclub, on Festival Leisure Park, chatting to a couple at the bar when he was brutally attacked.

He was knocked unconscious and suffered cuts to his head and lip which needed stitches. An ambulance took him to Basildon Hospital where it was discovered he had also suffered slight bleeding on the brain.

Police are appealing for information about the attack which happened at 3am on January 15 at the bar near the dance floor.

They would like to trace the couple he was speaking to as they may hold vital clues. They were a woman and a man in their early to mid twenties. The woman had blonde curly hair and the man had dark short hair, was 5ft 10ins tall, and was was wearing a blue jumper possibly with the logo 'Lyle & Scott' in the centre of his chest.

The victim, who is from Birmingham, cannot remember how he was attacked.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the club, especially the two people mentioned, who may be vital witnesses.
