FLIGHTS between Southend Airport and Ireland start next month.
Aer Arann has confirmed regular passenger services will fly, twice a day, between Southend and Waterford, in the south-east of the Republic, and Galway, on the west coast.
Tickets went on sale yesterday.
Southend Airport’s owners, Stobart, last autumn agreed a five-year deal with Aer Arann to operate flights for up to 300,000 people a year from Southend.
At present, Southend Airport only has scheduled passenger flights to the Channel Islands, run by Flybe, and only at certain times of the year.
Return flights from Waterford will operate seven days a week, while direct flights from Galway will run four days a week, and three days a week via Waterford.
