The Tories maintained their grip on power at Rochford District Council as they swept to victory at the polls.
The party bagged seven of the 10 seats up for grabs - in real terms both losing and gaining one.
It was a bad night for the Liberal Democrats, whose lost Sweyne Park to their Tory rivals.
But Rochford District Residents celebrated their second council seat as Christine Mason fought off Conservative opposition to win a place alongside her husband John.
