A DRIVER had a lucky escape after flipping his car outside a fast food restaurant on Sunday night.

The 23-year-old walked away with minor injuries from the incident in Eastern Avenue, in Southend, around 10.20pm when his Vauxhall Corsa hit a set of railings just outside the McDonalds restaurant.

After hitting the railings the driver lost control of the car which ended up flipping over, lying on the road on its roof.

Firefighters from Southend were called to the scene to help release the driver from his car and also administered first aid to the male, but despite the crash, he was left with just cuts and bruises before being taken to Southend Hospital as a precaution.
