Police are appealing for information following at attack on that left a man with serious facial injuries. The assault on the 27-year-old Southend man at about 3.30pm on August 30 outside the Tandoori Hut, Southchurch Avenue, Southend.
It is believed three white men, all aged in their 20s, were responsible.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "This vicious assault took place in broad daylight in an area busy with pedestrians and vehicles.
Police think someone must have seen the assault but has yet to come forward. The injured man remains under sedation in hospital as he awaits surgery." Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call police at Southend or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
