A WOMAN has condemned vandals who poured paint- stripper over her car, causing hundreds of pounds of damage.

Jacqui Skeats, 46, of Brookside, Canvey, was about start the school run when she spotted the damage to her Renault Megane.

Mrs Skeats still cannot understand why her car was picked out from among all the others parked in the street.

She said: “There’s no reason why anyone would do this. We haven’t got any enemies.

“We are family orientated. We are with our children and our parents, doing normal things families do.

“If there’s somebody we’ve upset, then I’d like to know, because we don’t know what we’ve done to deserve it.”

She is now waiting for the damage to be repaired, which has disrupted her daily trips to help her parents-in-law.

Mrs Skeats, who has two sons aged 13 and 16, added: “When I saw it I felt physically sick. I use my car all the time. My parents-in-law live in Benfleet and we go over to them every day.

“They’ve got a dog and they can’t walk it themselves. They are in their seventies and are very self-sufficient.

“But sometimes they need us if there’s any shopping or if there’s a doctor’s appointment and they are not feeling too good and don’t want to drive themselves.”

An Essex Police spokeswoman confirmed they had received a report about the vandalism. She added: “We will be attending at an arranged time to take a full statement.”

It is believed the attack happened sometime after 10pm on Sunday.

Anyone with information can call Canvey police on 101.
