THIEVES broke into a Benfleet home after scrambling over a garden gate.
They found a pair of garden shears to try and get in through a window in Haresland Close.
But it is believed they were disturbed by the home-owner and made off in the direction of Daws Heath Road.
It happened between 7.30am and 4pm on Tuesday, November 15.
