COMMUTERS are facing severe delays after a blaze broke out under railway arches.
Twenty firefighters from the London Fire Brigade were called to a car repair workshop in Cable Street, Shadwell, at 4.15pm.
Train operator c2c suspended services to and from London as smoke from the fire between Fenchurch Street and Lime Street was directly affecting the line.
Commuter services to South Essex are now running but many trains are expected to be up to 40 minutes late throughout this evening.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the blaze.
