Four people were arrested after a car failed to stop following a road collision in Basildon.
Officers were called to Clayhill Lane at about 11.50pm on Thursday April 23 after a driver reported that his car was hit by a Ford Fiesta which failed to stop.
The Fiesta was later found nearby and a 46-year-old man from Benfleet was arrested on suspicion of motoring offences.
A further search involving the police helicopter and dog units led to two other men and a 17-year-old boy, all from London, being arrested on suspicion of having offensive weapons.
Detectives have appealed for witnesses or any information from people who were in the area at the time. Anyone who can help should contact Basildon CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
