DRIVERS have been facing baaa-d delays on the A120 this afternoon after a sheep joined cars on the carriageway.
Traffic was ram-med around Bradwell after the creature joined eastbound traffic on the busy road at around 12.30pm.
Police were called to the scene but the sheep had made off by the time officers arrived.
They were also called yesterday, Monday December 10, but there was no sign of the sheep then either.
Pete and Amy Carr spotted the animal wandering along the road as they drove from Marks Tey towards Braintree.
Mr Carr, an IT manager, said: "It was certainly an unusual sight, hopefully it'll bring a smile or two to people's faces.
"Everyone seemed to be quite calm about it but the traffic (going towards Colchester) was probably queueing for around half a mile.
"There's a field alongside the left of the road so it may have come from there, I called the police and they said they were on their way.
"We're on the way to Arliss Fry's funeral - had he seen it it would have made him laugh."
