RESIDENTS can expect thunderstorms and sunshine as the mixed weather continues.
Tom Defty, from Essex Weather Centre, said: “Saturday is bringing cooler and unsettled weather.
“A band of rain and some thundery downpours will be in there.
“There is a chance some of them could be intense but not like anything we saw before with lightning and flash flooding.”
Temperatures are expected to average at 23 degrees and more showers and plenty of sunshine are expected on Sunday.
Mr Defty said: “July has been quite record breaking in terms of how warm and wet it has been.
“Canvey has seen one of the wettest July’s for a number of years.
“Summer isn’t over yet and we are expected to hold onto these warm temperatures for a little while longer.”
