A MAN from Basildon has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing, in east London.
Daniel Mutombo, 23, of Westley Road, Basildon, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, following the incident in Borwick Avenue, Walthamstow on Monday, March 16.
The vicim, a man in his twenties, is now in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in Mutombo’s car. The defendant spoke only to confirm his name, age and address when he appeared at court and was denied bail.
The case is so serious that it has been transferred to crown court.
Mutombo was arrested in Essex on Tuesday in connection with the attack.
Officers from Waltham Forest are investigating this case and a second stabbing after a man was found with knife wounds in nearby Gaywood Road around the same time.
