SHOPPERS in Basildon will be able to quiz their Police and Crime Commissioner as he hosts the second in a series of new roadshows.
Nick Alston will be at the Eastgate Centre, in the town centre, to meet residents and listen to crime of policing related concerns.
The roadshow, taking place between 11am and 3pm on Friday, July 17, is the second event of its kind to be hosted by the PCC and follows on from the first one held at Lakeside, in Thurrock, last month.
It aims to improve the way Mr Alton engages with communities in Essex, by visiting busy locations at times when people will be out and about.
The events offer a less formal environment than his public meetings.
Mr Alston said: "The roadshows provide a much more relaxed way for people to stop and talk to me when they are already out and about as I realise not everyone is able to attend my regular public meetings.
"The first roadshow at Lakeside was a great success and I have no doubt that Basildon will be the same and I am looking forward to meeting local residents and hearing their concerns and answering any of their questions.”
Mr Alston will be based outside Starbucks, on the ground floor of the shopping centre.
It is hoped he may also be joined by local Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables.
