STUDENTS were given a helping hand to cook up a storm during a visit from a former head chef at the Ritz.
The students, who are from the Pathways course at Seevic College, met with chef Martin Buckley to watch him cook and try their hands at baking banana and blueberry muffins.
The aim for the day was to help students improve their independent living skills as well as cutting, chopping and peeling skills.
Pathways student Tom Sansom, 16, said: “I felt inspired watching such a good chef cooking; I think I will now try cooking more. I have had a great day and learnt a lot.
“I also enjoyed getting to make my own muffins.”
Martin, who now works for public health, added: “I really enjoy working with people especially when I can share my expertise. I feel like it is a way of giving back.”
