Tributes have been pouring in to a man who was stabbed to death in Grays.
The victim has been named as Kevin Malthouse, 24, of Stanford-le-Hope.
He was stabbed in the chest in Blacksots Lane in the early hours of this morning and sadly died at the scene.
Friends have taken to social media to post tributes.
Cameron Banks posted: "This place just gets worse! Everyone becomes a nice guy once they die but Kevin Malthouse really was one in a million.
"I don't know anyone that could say a bad word against him.
"I'm in complete shock at what I've just woke up to, there's no such thing as a fist fight these days, too many cowards out there!
"R.I.P Kev, taken far too soon."
Mandy Thfc Derry added: "Tragic news.
"A life lost needlessly. Heartbreaking."
Sean Pudney posted: "Can't believe what i’ve woken up reading.
"One of the nicest guys I have ever met.
"It’s absolutely disgusting that people feel the need to use weapons.
"How could anyone live with themselves knowing that they have taken someone’s life.
"Such a tragic week this week, just goes to show that nowhere is safe anymore.
"Heart goes out to kev’s family, can’t imagine what you guy’s are going through."
Wesley Pease said: "We had laughs as kids mate.
"Take your football skills to the ones above & show them how class of 2009 played football.
