Police have charged a man with causing the death of an elderly pedestrian following a road collision in Hullbridge last year.
On August 5, 2016, a car hit Basil Shale, 84, in Lower Road.
Mr Shale died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge five days later.
Yesterday, Leonard Todd, 24, of Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh, was charged with causing death by careless driving as well as being served a summons for failing to stop and failing to report a road traffic collision.
He will appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on September 25.
