An eight-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car.
The child was hit at roughly 4.45pm on Craven Avenue, Canvey.
She was treated at the scene, before being taken to Southend Hospital.
The police and ambulances services both attended, but no arrests were made.
An ambulance spokesman said: "The East of England Ambulance Service were called to Craven Avenue, Canvey, yesterday at approximately 16:40 after reports of a female child being hit by a car.
"An ambulance and an ambulance car were sent.
"On arrival the patient received treatment for an arm injury, she was then conveyed to Southend University Hospital for further treatment."
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a crash involving a car and an eight year-old girl in Craven Avenue, Canvey Island at around 4.45pm on Tuesday, October 17.
"We attended.
"The girl was taken to hospital but it is not believed her injuries are serious.
"No-one has been arrested."
