A CAR fanatic from Benfleet is organising a monthly hot rod and classic car event in aid of Little Havens Hospice.
Neil Woodward, 48, owner of the Woodman’s Arms, in Rayleigh Road, raised £560 in support of the charity when he held a car meet at the pub for more than 50 cars last month.
Following the success of the meet, he has decided to start holding it on a monthly basis, with the next event being held on Sunday, February 25.
Following the event, Mr Woodward, said: “I have been supporting Little Havens Hospice for a number of years as I have children of my own and wanted to support a local charity.
“I visited the hospice earlier this year and have seen first-hand the amazing care and support given to the children and their families.
“They must raise over £46,000 per week to provide this specialist care; so I am so pleased that the money raised from the Hot Rod meets will help towards this total and intend to make this a monthly event.”
