THE B&M in Basildon town centre has finally opened.
The budget discount store opened today in Town Square after the former BHS store underwent an internal and external refurbishment programme and created more than 60 jobs for local people.
The store manager, Steve Bishop, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and feedback from customers has been great so far.
“A big thank you to St Luke’s Hospice who helped us open the store this morning, we hope that our donation can help them continue the outstanding work they do for the local community.”
Workers at the store chose St Luke’s Hospice volunteers to have some VIP treatment at the opening as well as donating money to the charity.
