INDIE rockers The Kooks have taken in iconic Canvey landmarks for their latest music video.

The video for ‘All the Time’, is the first video from their fifth studio album, Let’s Go Sunshine.

It follows a young woman as she flees her Thorney Bay home for a day of adventures across the island, showcases a number of Canvey’s most famous landmarks, including Fantasy Island, The Hotel Monico, and the seawall.

Directed by James Slater, who made his name creating videos for artists such as Jamie T and Major Lazer, the video combines shots of a traditional British seaside scene with a nostalgic, sun-kissed aesthetic more reminiscent of Californian beach fronts than ice cream huts and amusements.

In one scene, the group of skateboarding girls followed throughout the video are seen among the rides at Fantasy Island, watched by members of the band sitting in ticket booths and playing air hockey.

The Kooks are the latest high-profile artists to be inspired by Canvey’s landscape, with Brighton-based artist David Blandy reimagining the site of a disused oil refinery as a new role-playing game, and director Isla Ure setting a new short film on the island.

Fresh from a sold-out US tour, the four-piece, known for hits such as 2006’s She Moves in Her Own Way, have steadily gained popularity over a career spanning more than a decade, with more than a billion worldwide streams of their music.

Their new album is set to be released on August 31, after a hectic summer of performances at festivals such as Reading and Leeds - and opening for The Rolling Stones at the two London Stadium dates.
