OFFICE workers were forced to stay inside after a swarm bees invaded an industrial estate.
Thousands of the flying insects could be seen buzzing around the sky at the Britannia Business Park, at Comet Way, in Southend, on Monday.
Salesman, Ryan Jarvis, from Wickford, recorded the buzzing creatures from his office window and saw many of them come right up to the panes.
The 25-year-old said: “We didn’t notice them at first until I just looked outside and realised there were things flying about.
“There were thousands of them.
“We stayed inside and couldn’t even go out and get lunch.
“I think there must have been a big nest.
“They definitely came from the bush which was lop-sided.
“We called a bee keeper who couldn’t get out that day so we just all had to make a run for it to our cars when it was time go home."
An aerospace company which had its site at the same industrial site before moving, confirmed there has always been a problem with bees there."
