ARMED police descended on a Southend home after reports of someone carrying a gun.
The incident took place on Monday, with residents reporting seeing multiple officers with weapons and a dog unit deployed.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of someone seen with a firearm in Central Avenue, Southend at around 2.20pm on Monday.
"We attended and searched the area but could not locate anyone.
"We later established this was a mental health-related incident and a woman was left in the care of health professionals."
