A THOUGHTFUL young boy has put together a “care package” to help the elderly through self-isolation.
George Koumas, 6, came up with the idea after seeing news reports of people panic buying in stores.
The Southend youngster, who lived through cancer when he was aged 2, asked his mum Rebecca, 38, if they could prepare some items such as tinned foods and toilet roll to give to one of his elderly neighbours.
Ms Koumas said: “Because of his personal history he recognises that the elderly need people to take care of them.
“We need to be educating children at times like these to be kind and look out for each other.
“They’re seeing it all over the news and we need to be having these conversations.”
