A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a police car and other vehicle crashed in Westcliff.
The police car, along with a blue Ford Focus, crashed in London Road earlier this afternoon.
Resident Gary West walked by the incident at 1.30pm.
He said: "I didn't see the incident but arrived after the road was cordoned off.
"There were people being treated by paramedics but I couldn't see if they were seriously injured.
"There were lots of police cars there, they were diverting traffic."
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called to London Road in Westcliff shortly before 1pm today following reports of a collision.
"An ambulance and ambulance officer attended and treated a female patient at the scene before transporting her to Southend University Hospital for further assessment and care."
A police spokesman said: "A police car and another vehicle were in collision in Milton Road, Westcliff at around 12.55pm on Wednesday 1 April.
"The police car was on blue lights at the time.
"No-one was seriously injured."
