A surgery has been operating without a doctor for months, but will now close its doors for good.
The Grafton Surgery, on Long Road, Canvey, will shut in September, with patients forced to register elsewhere.
Patients at the Canvey surgery had said in December last year there was no GP on site, but bosses said at the time there was a doctor on site, because one was stationed at their branch surgery, the Ashingdon Medical Centre in Rochford.
In a letter sent to all patients, which the Echo has seen, residents are told the surgery will close from September 1.
Families have been told to register with a new doctors surgery before September 1, or they will be allocated one.
The Castle Point and Rochford CCG has been contacted for comment.
