POLICE and ambulances have been called to a "serious crash" in Southend.
The incident is in Shoebury Road.
Eyewitnesses say a number of police and ambulance crews are at the scene.
It is understood an air ambulance was also on the scene. Firefighters cut the roof of a car involved in the crash, eyewitnesses say.
It is believed the patient was airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
